InMotion Entertainment - www.InMotionStores.com
In May of 1998 Founders Mike Freedman, David Kight and Barney Freedman hired AC to help launch their innovative service and distribution model for DVD Movie Entertainment in the airport market place.
InMotion's visionary business model delivered a number of firsts to airports and their customers. Both the first time air traveler and the seasoned veteran had the opportunity to:
Test-drive the newest DVD portable entertainment technology and select/play/return a wide range of movie content;
Interact with sales staff passionate about portable DVD entertainment and well trained to initiate customers with little technical knowledge, and connect with early technology adopters looking for new thrills;
Reserve in advance on the web, equipment and movies for pick-up and drop off within InMotion's airport network;
Purchase the latest editions of portable technology at 'price guarantee' pricing; and Experience and refine by customer feedback, a customer driven service delivery model run by owners who valued return customers.
AC worked with David Kight, Chris Shepherd and others at InMotion to win award of more than 25 airport contracts. In 2005 through an asset purchase, InMotion doubled its existing footprint to over 50 locations. This acquisition allows InMotion's unique network to expand customer access to a wide range of InMotion digital entertainment including movies, music, electronics and digital imaging while on the road.
Client Need: To position and leap over resistance to new technology and barriers-to-entry, establish a network footprint and successfully deliver the airport industry's first portable digital entertainment network.
Results: InMotion is known industry wide for its network of over 50 movie rental and retail stores and kiosks across airports in North America. The company sales are expected to exceed $40 million in 2005. Customer service continues to be a primary focus in its growth strategy. The company has won numerous industry awards for "Most Innovative" Concept.
